Little Green Lake

Winehaven, Sven Clogs, Lunch/Dinner at The Northern Tavern and Grill

Start at Green Lake DNR Boat Landing, canoe north past Ojiketa Regional Park to the Little Green Lake access, portage to Old Town Road and turn North, (left) to Highway 8.  Cross Highway 8 and follow the frontage road west, (left) to Lake Martha. Take a leisurely canoe around Lake Martha.  Then, lock your canoe at the Northern Grill and Tavern for the next part of your trip.  

Continue west along the frontage road to Winehaven for an award winning glass of wine.  After drinking your fill stop in and buy a pair of clogs at Sven’s Clogs.  Take your time and mill around the wonderful variety of shoes and gifts. Then return with your buys and have a great lunch or dinner at the Northern Grill and Tavern.

With a full tummy and a full canoe/kayak portage back to the Little Green Lake access.  With a setting sun canoe back to the Green Lake access.

The next day tweet, Facebook or tell your friends about your wonderful day trip on the Chisago Lakes Water Trail.

Trip time: 1.5 hours canoe, portage 10 minutes, walk 10 minutes; 4 hours roundtrip.  But, spend all day enjoying the shops and restaurant.

Trip distance: canoe 3 miles, portage ½ mile to Northern Grill & Tavern, walk ½ mile to Sven’s Clogs and Winehaven.  Return for a total of 6 miles canoeing and 2 miles portaging and walking.
